Baby and Child seats

Child safety restraint seats are available for your children's protection at select Europcar locations in Nigeria with advance reservation. For increased safety, kids under the age of seven must ride in cars harnessed or using booster seats.

Three types of child safety restraint seats are available in Nigeria from Europcar:

Infant Car Seat, 0–9 kg (0–12 months)
Infant Child Seat, 8-18kg (1-3 years)
Toddler Child Seat, 14–26 kg (4–7 years)

You can purchase any one of the three alternatives at the time of booking, subject to availability.
The kind of constraint will vary based on the child's age as follows:

Kids under six months old need to wear an authorised, correctly fastened, and adjusted rear-facing child restraint.

Kids between six months and under four years old need to wear a forward-facing child restraint with an integrated harness OR an authorised, properly fastened, and adjusted rear-facing child restraint.

Children younger than seven years old must wear an authorised, correctly positioned, securely secured, forward-facing child restraint with an integrated harness OR an authorised booster seat that is securely fastened.

Remember these important safety advice for your child:

o Examine the child restraint and vehicle directions thoroughly.
o Make sure all kids are buckled up in the rear.
o Make sure the harness straps and clip are positioned and secured appropriately.
o Never put a child restraint seat in a seat that has an active airbag.
o Always get a tight fit.
o Never allow the restraint to move more than an inch from side to side or front to back.
o Set an example by always fasten your seatbelt.
o Respect all child restraint regulations and ensure that the restraint has been appropriately fitted for their age and is securely attached and adjusted for any child under seven years old.
